How to create a WordPress backup using the BlogVault plugin? We can assist you.

The BlogVault plugin is one of the most effective backup plugins for WordPress websites.

Skynats is frequently asked to install the plugin as part of its Server Management Services.

Let's talk about how our support engineers install the plugin for our clients.

How do we take a backup using BlogVault?

One of our customers recently requested that we install the BlogVault plugin for his WordPress installation. Here is how we set it up for him.

  1. The BlogVault account must be created from their official website.

  2. Then we sign up using the email address of the customer and click start now.

  3. A message containing a link to the BlogVault dashboard will be sent to the specified email address.

  4. We click the login link in the email to access the BlogVault dashboard.

  5. We add the WordPress site from the dashboard by selecting +ADD NEW SITE.

  6. Now, enter the URL of the website.

  7. Following that, we will install the BlogVault plugin.

There are two ways to install the BlogVault plugin: manually and automatically.

Auto-install

We can install the WordPress plugin directly from the BlogVault dashboard.

We enter the WP Admin Username and Password for this purpose. Next, we select the Install plugin.

Within minutes, the plugin will be installed and the backup will begin.

Based on the size of the website's files and database, the backup will take a certain amount of time.

Manual install

The BlogVault plugin is downloaded from the plugin's official website.

After logging into the WordPress dashboard, we navigate to Plugin >> Upload plugin.

Now, click the Choose File button. Then, we upload the plugin's zip file and click the install now button.

Lastly, enable the plugin.

Key capabilities of the BlogVault plugin

Let's discuss the primary characteristics of BlogVault.

Staging site

BlogVault introduced a very cool staging site feature. Utilizing the staging option on the dashboard, we can build a staging site.

Choose the Backup Version and PHP Version from the dashboard's drop-down menus and click submit.

After completion, a username and password will be issued. When accessing the staging URL, login credentials are required.

In phpMyAdmin, a staging database will be available for modifying the staging site database.

Update plugin and themes

The BlogVault plugin will identify the BlogVault dashboard's plugins and themes. This facilitates the management and maintenance of plugins and themes.

Firewall

The BlogVault firewall is an additional cool feature. We can view traffic logs and login request logs by activating the firewall option.

The toggle button enables and disables the feature with ease.
